Weather Preview: July 1, 2019


Monday, July 1, 2019 – A delightful start to July across the Southern Tier on Monday. We expect plenty of sunshine, lighter winds and seasonable temperatures.

High pressure building into the Southern Tier means we end up with mostly sunny skies Monday.  There will also be a bit less of a breeze along with temperatures a few degrees higher than on Sunday.

Our next weather maker is a cold front that moves through the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The highlight to the mid and latter pater of the week is the returns of some heat and humidity just in time for the 4th of July.  The warmth also comes with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Monday: Mostly sunny, not as windy. Highs 75 to 80.  Wind: NW 4-8 mph

Monday Night: Increasing clouds.  Low near 60. Wind: SSW 4-8 mph.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds, seasonable with an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.  High near 80.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High near 80.  

Thursday (4th of July): Sun and clouds. Hot and humid. Chance of an afternoon thunderstorms..  High in the mid to upper 80s.

Friday:  Sun and clouds. Warm and humid with scattered showers and storms. High in the low 80s.

Saturday: A few showers and storms. High near 80.

Sunday: Sun and clouds, seasonable.  High in the upper 70s
