While there wasn’t much action down here on any courts, if you went north up 81 Thursday you could have caught the Syracuse men’s basketball team hosting Miami in an ACC showdown.
The last time these two met was last February in Florida, with the Orange picking up a 62-55 road win.
Junior forward Elijah Hughes didn’t get to play in last year’s game after transferring from East Carolina.
But, he still knows how difficult this Miami team can be.
“A lot of toughness from them. They’re a tough group. They don’t back down from nobody. They have a lo of good guard play from Chris, and the other two guard. They can really make shots. They’re just all-around tough. So, we just need to match their toughness and hopefully play harder than them,” he says.
After Miami, the Orange’s schedule doesn’t get any easier.
‘Cuse will be on the road for their next three games, beginning on Saturday at #10 Virginia Tech.
Then it’s off to Boston College and Pitt, before returning to home on February 5th to welcome in Florida State.
We’re also just under a month away from the big rematch with #2 Duke inside the Carrier Dome on February 23.
