Another boy’s team set to begin their run through the state tournament is the Owego Indians.
Owego outlasted Seton Catholic Central in a thriller to cap off Sectional Saturday, a 54-51 victory for the tribe.
It was an incredibly entertaining game with back-and-forth, end-to-end action.
It came down to one last half court shot before the Indians could celebrate their section championship.
Senior Kobe Bogart was simply sensational, scoring 34 points in the win.
Bogart knows that while having a big offensive night is great, if they want to win a state title, they need to get it done on both ends of the floor.
“Great defense. We need to foul less if we want to make it any further. We need to foul much less because we put a great team at the line. That’s where most of their points came from,” said Bogart.
Owego and Lowville meet in the regional round Saturday in Syracuse at noon.
