SeaWolves win wild one over Ponies 12-9


The Ponies looking to improve their record against Erie to 11-3 this season. Newcomer Joe Cavallaro who was called up from Low-A Columbia, making his first career Double-A start.

To the third, 2-0 Ponies until Sergio Alcantara zips one past Cavallaro.

In comes Cam Gibson for the first SeaWolves run of the game.

Binghamton would respond quickly.

Bottom three, and John Mora goes yard.

Number five for him on the year.

3-1 Ponies.

But, no lead was safe in this one.

Top 4 and Dominic Ficociello is all over that baseball.

Off the Maines Food sign.

A two-run shot that ties things at 3.

The trend continued in the bottom of the 4th when Levi Michael joined in on the slugfest.

A three-run shot going the other way.

7-3 Ponies, their largest lead of the night.

As for Cavallaro, he would go five innings after surrendering nine hits and five runs while striking out five.

In the 6th, Jhoan Urena with a missile back off of Caleb Thielbar.

He’d shake it off, Kevin Taylor scores, 8-6 Ponies.

Then, Tim Tebow would drive in another run to make it 9-6, but Binghamton would blow that lead as well.

Erie would win a wild one, 12-9.

Ponies and SeaWolves continue their series on Friday night.

First pitch for that one is set for 7:05 pm.
