Rumble Ponies, SeaWolves postponed on Friday night

Sports

Last night, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies gave the crowd of over 4,300 inside NYSEG Stadium an exciting finish in the team’s home opener.

After falling behind the Erie SeaWolves 3-2 in the 7th, the Ponies rallied to win the game in walk-off fashion 4-3 thanks to a Michael Paez single to left.

Tonight, Binghamton and Erie prepared for game two of their four-game series.

But Mother Nature wasn’t having it Friday.

For the 4th time in the last five days, the Ponies had a game postponed as the threat of severe weather conditions was enough to spook the teams from playing.

The game scheduled for tonight will now be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow, with game one set to start at 1:05 pm.

The two teams will then wrap up their series on Sunday before the Ponies welcome in the New Hampshire Fisher Cats for a three-game set beginning Monday.
