RubberDucks blank Rumble Ponies 2-0

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are on an absolute roll right now.

After sweeping the Erie SeaWolves over the weekend, the Ponies have taken the first two games of a three-game set in Akron with the RubberDucks.

On Wednesday, Binghamton looked to make it back-to-back sweeps as they met Akron for the final game of their series.

After scoring a combined 27 runs and totaling 33 hits the last two games, the Ponies bats fell silent Wednesday evening.

They mustered only two hits for the entire game.

Chris Mazza had an outstanding outing, going 7 2/3 innings while giving up only five hits and two runs.

Unfortunately those two runs were enough for Akron as the RubberDucks avoid the sweep, winning this one 2-0.

The Ponies will now return to NYSEG Stadium to open up a four-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs.

First pitch is set for 6:35 pm.
