Ponies having problems at the plate

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies offense has suddenly vanished.

After scoring 16 runs and going 5-for-12 with runners in scoring position, Ponies hitters have gone a mere two-for-18 with runners in scoring position over the next three games.

That also meant scoring just two runs in 25 innings going into Thursday’s game.

After their 2-1 loss to Portland Wednesday, Binghamton Manager Luis Rojas gave his perspective into his team’s struggle at the plate.

“I think we’re getting a little bit too anxious, going outside the strike zone. Chasing pitches, and getting ourselves in trouble, and we fell behind a couple of times. So, we just need to do a better job,” Rojas said.
