The initial New York state high school football rankings were released Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s a look at which Section IV teams made the cut.
Beginning in Class Double-A, only the Elmira Express in the top 30.
They come in at #22 and are 2-0 this year.
Nobody home in Class A.
As for Class B, well, that’s a different story as Section IV has two teams ranked inside the top five.
That includes the number one team, Chenango Forks.
At the five spot sits the Maine-Endwell Spartans.
Both M-E and Forks are 2-0.
Also in the rankings at B are the Owego Indians coming in at 24.
The Susquehanna Valley Sabers are enjoying early success in their new class, as they come in at number two in Class C.
Newark Valley is close behind, sitting at number four.
Lastly, in Class D, Sidney is ranked third as they’re out to a 2-0 start.
Also cracking the top 10 are the Greene Trojans, standing in at number nine.
Three teams were honorable mentions from Section IV: Chenango Valley in B, Dryden in C, and Bainbridge-Guilford in D.
