SUNY Broome releases statement on Larry King firing

SUNY Broome - The SUNY Broome men's basketball team has fired their head coach.

On Friday, the college released a statement saying that Larry King is no longer employed by the SUNY Broome Athletics Department.

However, King is still employed as a member of the SUNY Broome's Learning Assistance Department.

While the reason and when the exact timing it occurred were not released, NewsChannel 34 did learn that a combination of Associate Coach Josh Frederick, women's head coach Mike Huggler, and Director of Athletics Brett Carter, will oversee the team's operations until a permanent decision is made.

The Hornets are currently 2-11 and were forced to forfeit their last game on Thursday.

They return to action on January 10th at Finger Lakes Community College.
