Some good news involving the Rumble Ponies though as one of their pitching bright spots has been recognized by the league.
Harol Gonzalez was named the Eastern League’s Pitcher of the Week.
Gonzalez won his lone start last week, tallying six strikeouts while not allowing a run or a hit, combining with Ryder Ryan to toss the first Binghamton no-hitter since 2006 last Wednesday.
Gonzalez has been impressive throughout the season, sitting at 3-0 with a 2.88 ERA and 30 Ks.
The Dominican Republic native has pulled a complete 180 from a season ago.
He finished 0-9 with a 7.79 ERA, surrendering 45 runs and 10 home runs in his first taste of the Double-A level.
Things tend to get worse before they get better so good to see Gonzalez turning things around.
