Indians outlast Wildcats 14-11 to win Class C championship

Owego and Johnson City took to the field to decide the Class C champion.

1st quarter, Brandon Warren gets the scoring started.

JC up 1-0.

But, moments later, Connor Kinney connects with Tyler Phelps and he snipes one high.

Great celley afterwards too.

We’re tied at one.

Then, Justin Brown goes five hole for the goal.

Owego in front 2-1.

The Indians had multiple 6 goal leads in the second half, including 13-7 late.

However, JC battled back to get to within two at 13-11.

But, in the end, Owego holds off Johnson City 14-11 to win the first section title in program history.

With a similar set up as with Forks, the Indians will face either Section III or X in the state regionals.

That will also be June 1st at 3:00 pm in Corning.
