Fisher Cats defeat Rumble Ponies 4-1

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - On Tuesday, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies played their first set of back-to-back games since their third and fourth contests of the season.

Those came back on April 6 and 7 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Now, those same Cats are in town, and after earning a 4-1 win Monday, the Ponies were trying to earn a series win with another victory tonight.

Anthony Kay on the bump for the Ponies.

Coming into the game, he'd been lights out, but didn't have his best stuff tonight.

First inning, two on for Chad Spanberger.

He breaks out the 60-degree wedge for this one and plops it just out of Andres Gimenez's reach.

A run in to score, it's 1-0 New Hampshire.

Things looked a little better for Kay over the next couple innings, until this. In the 4th, Kevin Smith with a bomb to deep left.

His second of the season put the Cats up 2-0.

This is too good not to show.

A bunt attempt, and Sam Haggerty saying no thanks to Vinny Capra, swiping left for the out.

Pretty play.

But, the Fisher Cats would keep scoring regardless.

Josh Palacios with the opposite field double to bring in another run.

3-0 Cats.

And one more for the Shire as Santiago Espinal smacks on to left.

Another run.

That made it 4-0 then, 4-1 would be your final.

The Ponies and Fisher Cats wrap up their three-game series Wednesday evening at 6:35 pm.
