Devils steal win from Thunderbirds in overtime 4-3

Springfield in town as the BDevs looked for their second-straight win after snapping a 10-game losing skid last time out against Laval.

First period, Devils turn it over behind Evan Cormier.

Right in front for Blaine Byron and he fires it home.

Thunderbirds strike first, it’s 1-0.

BDevs with a great chance to answer.

Eric Tangradi on a breakaway.

In alone, but he’s denied by Chris Driedger.

Then, in the second, Springfield at it again.

Couple nice moves, puck thrown in front, and look who’s there again.

Byron buries his second of the game.

That makes it 2-0 in the middle frame.

John Quenneville, Ryan Schmelzer, and John Ramage would all score to give Binghamton a 3-2 lead.

But, Springfield would tie the game at three.

In overtime, Brandon Gignac nets the game winner as Binghamton wins it, 4-3.

The Devils stay home for their next game, which is tomorrow night.

They’ll welcome in the Rochester Americans at 7:05 pm.
