Chenango Forks faces Skaneateles in State Regionals

BINGHAMTON - As for the Chenango Forks football team, it was just another day at the office Saturday.

The Blue Devils won a hard-fought battle against Maine-Endwell 15-0 to capture the Class B section championship.

That makes it seven-straight years Forks has won a section title between classes B and C.

This week, the Blue Devils will face Skaneateles in the state regionals.

The Lakers won the Class C state championship last year before jumping up to B this year.

Forks is looking to get back to the dome for the sixth-straight season, and it will take a whole team effort to do so.

Quarterback and defensive back Jake Topa believes in his guys, and says there's no one else he'd rather play with.

"I've never seen a group of guys care so much about each other. Honestly, every team says they're one, big family. But, we truly are one, big family. We know what each other loves to do, we know what each other hates, we know what each other gets under their skin. Definitely a tough group of guys, and I love them all," Topa said.

Forks and Skaneateles kick off their regional game on Saturday at CNS at 3:00 pm.
