Binghamton University softball prepares for Florida games

Local Sports

Well while we are experience this lovely winter weather, the Binghamton University softball team is preparing to head down to the sunshine state to kick off their season.

And yes – it’s okay to be a little jealous.

The team enters the 2017 season with some new faces, having added nine freshmen who are expected to contribute to the team right away.

“Were definitely expecting a couple of our freshmen to come in and make an impact right away, specifically with positions that we lost last year, and they’re more than capable of doing that.  Some of our freshmen played a high quality travel ball experience, where they got to play some really good competition around the country, so I definitely think they’re prepared and ready to do that,” said Binghamton Softball Head Coach Michelle Johnston.

The Bearcats are playing in the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Invitational in Clearwater, Florida this Friday through Sunday.
