Binghamton, Portland rained out on Friday night

Local Sports

Well. last night could have gone better for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

After finishing with only two hits in a 2-0 loss to Akron Wednesday, you would think the only way to go would be up from there.

Wrong.

The Ponies were no-hit by a combined three Portland Sea Dogs pitchers on Thursday, dropping the game 2-0.

But, looking on the bright side, it can’t get any worse than zero hits, right?

Well, we won’t know until Saturday now as their game with Portland was postponed.

Shocker.

Rain pelted the Binghamton area, and NYSEG Stadium was no exception.

After almost an hour delay, the game was finally called this evening.

So after yet another weather-interfered night, the Ponies and Sea Dogs will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

Game one is set for 1:05 pm.

The two wrap up their series on Sunday with a 2:05 pm first pitch.
