Bearcats outlast River Hawks 58-53

It had been a week since we last saw the Binghamton University women’s basketball team in action.

They overcame a 20 point deficit to beat UMBC last Wednesday, 58-46.

This Wednesday, the Bearcats were back inside the confines of the Events Center as they welcomed in the UMass Lowell River Hawks.

Before the game, there was a ceremony honoring Rebecca Carmody for reaching 1,000 career points against UMBC last week.

After that, it was game time.

Here, Carmody gets the hand off from Olivia Ramil.

A good take through the paint, and gets the lay in.

Kai Moon gives it to Carmody, and then gets it right back.

Moon launches the three, and buries it.

Then, Moon with a sick step-back three.

Kai led BU with 19 points, including hitting 5 threes.

Gathers a pass from Carly Boland, and takes it all the way in for two.

Becca finished with 9 points and 8 assists, while Boland scored 11 points.

BU led by as many as 15 in the 3rd.

However, the Riverhawks kept fighting and tied the game in the 4th, thanks to 21 points from Bri Rudolph.

But, the Bearcats got it together when it counted.

Binghamton picks up another big America East win as they hold off UML, 58-53.

BU hits the road this weekend as they travel to Vermont with tip off on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
