Fisher Cats prevail over Rumble Ponies in 11 innings 5-4


The 2019 season for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies got off to a nice start yesterday.

The Ponies beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5-2 on Opening Day.

Barrett Barnes and Jason Krizan each had a pair of RBI’s, while Joshua Torres picked up the win.

Game two of the four-game set in New Hampshire tonight.

Ponies looking to start the year 2-0, and they got off to a good start in this one.

Third inning, Sam Haggerty lines one into right field.

Andres Gimenez comes in to score.

Binghamton goes up 1-0.

Later in the inning, Will Toffey at the dish, and he finds the outfield grass in left.

Haggerty to the plate.

2-0 Ponies.

Bottom half of the inning, and Kacy Clemens goes the opposite way.

In comes Chad Spanberger, and then Santiago Espinal tries his luck too.

It pays off.

Fisher Cats tie it at two.

This one took extras, with New Hampshire winning it 5-4 in 11.

The Ponies and Fisher Cats wrap up their four-game series over the weekend, with games both Saturday and Sunday.
