The NFL announced it’s entire schedule of preseason opponents on Tuesday.
The Bills will face the Colts, Panthers, Lions and Vikings, but Western New York football fans will get the short end of the exhibition season stick.
Buffalo will host the first and fourth games of the preseason, which are traditionally when the starters play the least. Most teams don’t play their starters for a single snap in the final preseason game.
The trip to Detroit renews a preseason rivalry that was absent in 2018. The Bills and Lions had closed out the preseason every year from 2002 until 2017 before not meeting last season.
That game will also be the only nationally televised exhibition for the Bills. CBS will carry the game Friday night, August 23rd with kickoff at 8pm.
The Vikings game to close preseason will be August 29th. That’s the date of the last game for every team.
All four of Buffalo’s preseason games can only be seen in Rochester on News 8.
