Baylor holds off Notre Dame 82-81 to win NCAA women’s championship

Last night, the NCAA women’s basketball tournament came to an end as Baylor met Notre Dame in the National Championship.

This Notre Dame team won the title last year in one of the most dramatic ways possible, with Arike Ogunbowale nailing a corner three to win the game.

This year’s title game didn’t lack excitement either.

Inside the final 10 seconds, tied at 80.

Baylor’s Chloe Jackson drives to the basket and gets the shot to fall.

Bears up by two with about 4 seconds to go.

But, Ogunbowale with a chance to tie things up as she’s fouled and heads to the free throw line with 1.9 to go.

However, first free throw, and too much on it.

She would hit the second to make it 82-81.

But, not enough luck of the Irish as Baylor holds on to win their third national title by that final.
