Manuel Shines As Bills Wrap Up Minicamp

NFL Buffalo
Prescott Rossi/Reporting: “As far as mincamp practices go, the Bills offense could not have looked much worse than it did on Wednesday. To give the offense a chance today, Rex Ryan kept his 1st team defensive line off the field during team drills. The whole offense and EJ Manuel specifically looked a lot better. A nice sendoff for the final day at mandatory minicamp.

Rex Ryan/Bills Head Coach: ” You guys posted every stat known to man in there. I am like ‘Alright that’s enough, big boys ain’t in there today.’ So it is a little easier to function when that front four ain’t in there. You know we did that a little bit. When you combine talent with scheme it is going to be pretty spectacular over on the other side I believe.”

“What you are trying to accomplish. You have to get a couple new systems taught, you have to see what you have from a physical standpoint as best you can without putting the pads on, enthusiasm and all that type of stuff. And obviously the physical conditioning of your players. I have been happy with all of it. If they  can be half as enthused as I am about this season and that would be good.

Now the Bills begin a 6-week break. Rex Ryan wants his guys to detox from football. Get away and spend time with friends and family before the grind starts again next month. The next time the Buffalo Bills hit the field, it will be in Pittsford at St. John Fisher for their first practice of training camp on July 31st.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the Bills announced the signing of free agent TE Matthew Mulligan. An undrafted free agent out of UMaine in 2008, Mulligan played under Rex Ryan and the New York Jets from 2009-2011. Since then, the Enfield, ME native made short stops with the Patriots, Bears, Cardinals, and Titans.
