What better way to celebrate than a romantic dinner, or lunch, for two?
Whole in the Wall Restaurant on Binghamton’s Southside has added staff for the holiday and features some specials made just for Valentine’s Day.
One is the very labor-intensive Oaxacan Seafood Stew which starts with a fish bone broth that takes days to cook and is finished with wild bluefish, bay shrimp, wild salmon and bay scallops.
There’s also a blush lasagna with a homemade vodka cream sauce.
Junior Partner Stacey Gould says the restaurant’s tabletop lanterns, dim lighting and private booths make for a romantic setting. “It’s great to have Valentine’s Day in the month of February. When you live in Upstate New York, January and February can be a little quiet, also it’s harder for people to get out when you have big snow storms or ice storms, so it’s a very important day for us.”
For Valentine’s Day lunch, diners were treated to the folksy classical tunes of Duo Meridian.
Whole in the Wall is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 9 and the special entrees will be available through the weekend.
