APRIL 23 – 1949 is a stressful time for Mayor Walker Lounsberry, who officially gives his notice.

Lounsberry was Mayor for 6 years before claiming indisposition, attributing it to his job.

“It can become a real burden,” he said.

According to old newspaper archives online, Lounsberry died on May 9, 1965 at the age of 70.
