VINES to Host Workshop on Canning and Preserving for Beginners
Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, INC (VINES) hosting a workshop on Canning and Preserving for Beginners on Wednesday, August 8th from 6PM-7:30PM at the United Presbyterian church, 42 Chenango Street in Binghamton. Join Ann Supa of Cornell Cooperative Extension to learn proper techniques for making classic pickles and other pickled veggies using vinegar, sugar, and basic ingredients. This free class will cover food preserving basics: equipment, technique, ingredients, storage, and recipes. You’ll leave class with a jar of your very own creation and the knowledge to start pickling at home.
