From Windsor Corn Fest:
PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 21, 2018
SAVE THE DATE – THE 2nd ANNUAL CORN FESTIVAL & TRACTOR SHOW IS COMING
The bands, The Stoutmen and Habit Formin’, are on board to rock Windsor’s Klummp Park on Saturday, August 25th from 12 noon to 5 pm.
The food vendors are lined up to titillate your palates with all things corn and many other favorites. The Windsor Fire Dept will be offering chicken dinners while they last, but our recommendation is to call ahead and place your order with Craig Terrell at 222-5470. That way you won’t miss out on their delicious barbequed chicken. We have vendors lined up with corn dogs, walk-away tacos, corn chowder, corn niblets, roasted corn, french fries, hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, cornbread, chili, sno cones, cotton candy, ice cream and more. And we are more prepared for the crowds this year – thank you again for all those who made last year’s event a huge success.
We will have children’s games, crafts, and contests to entertain and fun, fun, fun! Miss Rodeo will be making an appearance, so be sure to say hello! And tractors, lots of tractors on display, with local friends who are proud to show off their tractors old and new! Want to learn how cider used to be made before all the new machinery was developed? Well, thanks to Kevin VonRoon, he will be demonstrating that very process. We are working on a few more surprises as well.
Join the Corn Hole Tournament for cash prizes. $10 per team of 2 to participate. Don’t have a teammate, sign up anyway and we will pair you up with someone. Never played? No worries! It’s basically just a bean bag toss and anyone can have fun doing it. Let’s make this the biggest Corn Hole Tournament Windsor has ever seen.
Many friends and neighbors are setting up vendor booths to offer their wares or provide information on their services, so be sure to visit them and shop locally.
The grand finale is our infamous duck race down the creek at 4:30 pm with a grand prize of $250.
Tickets are $5.00 each and available in advance at Acclaim Insurance Agency on Main Street or the day of the event. Buy 5 tickets for $20 and increase your chances. Second prize is $100, third prize is $50 and the not so lucky duck who finishes last will receive $25. Winners need not be present to win, but cheering your duck on is fun and exciting, so we hope you will stay for the event.
Admission to the event is free of charge, but we ask that you consider those less fortunate and bring canned or boxed food products for Windsor’s Human Development to help feed others in our community.
For additional information on any of the events, activities, or to sign up as a vendor, exhibitor of a tractor, or the Corn Hole Tournament, call Elaine at 655-3399 or email: email@example.com. As with any event, volunteers are needed as well.
