Up to the Minute

Norwich NY- Chenango Arts Council is pleased to announce its first live performance since the COVID-19 pandemic forced much of the country to close down in winter 2020.

The 2021/22 Season will kick off with Mark Sand’s Realtime Dixieland Band on August 14,, 2021 at 7pm.

“Slowly but surely, the arts are opening back up,” says Executive Director Alecia ONeill. “We’ve been able to add opening receptions to our exhibits, had Kids Summer Art Camp and now finally live shows. It’s so wonderful to welcome people back into this space. I think people have really missed the social aspect of the arts.”

The Realtime Dixieland Band specializes in Dixieland music, or “Hot Jazz”, which was developed in New Orleans over 100 years ago.

Since 2017, they have been delighting audiences with music popularized by Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller and more.

Tickets are available at ChenangoArts.org, by calling 607-336-2787 and at the door.

The performance will be open seating, with general admission costing $15 and discounts given to members and seniors.

Chenango Arts Council is located at 27 West Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
