Farmers’ Market Coupons Available to Seniors
Representatives from the Broome County Office for Aging will be visiting various senior centers to issue Farmers’ Market Coupons to eligible individuals. Farmers’ Market Coupons are $20 worth of vouchers that may be exchanged for produce at local participating farmers’ markets. During each distribution at the centers, the CHOW Produce Market will be present and accepting Farmers’ Market Coupons as payment for produce. There is no restriction per household and all eligible individuals may receive one $20 booklet per year. Applicants must be age 60 or older and self-attest that they are within income guidelines. Income guidelines are as follows:
- $1,872/month for a one-person household; or
- $2,538/month for a two-person household; or
- $3,204/month for a three-person household.
Applicants are required to show their Broome County Office for Aging ID card at time of pick up. If candidates do not have an ID card, they will be required to fill out an application and show proof of age in order to receive Farmers Market Coupons.
