Uncle Tony’s closes New Year’s Eve

A well known bar and restaurant will be closing its doors for the final time in Binghamton.

According to WNBF, after 35 years, Uncle Tony’s located on State Street will be closing.

Following the November 16th death of co-founder Anthony Basti, owner Brian Whiting began to consider the future of the business.

Uncle Tony’s final day of operation will be New Year’s Eve.

During the last Friday of being open, there will be a special event to honor Tony.

WNBF reports that neighboring bar Dillinger’s Celtic Pub and Eatery is considering an expansion into Uncle Tony’s space.
