Trooper Christopher Skinner Blood Drive

The New York State Police are asking for the community’s help in honoring a fallen trooper.

Nearly 5 years ago New York State Trooper Christopher Skinner was killed by a hit and run driver while conducting a traffic stop on I-81.

Since then an annual blood drive has been held to help support the community he served for 13 years.

This year’s drive will be held Wednesday December 26th from noon to 6 at the Five Mile Point Fire Company located at 16 Crescent Drive in Kirkwood.

Since the drive started 303 units of blood have been donated in Trooper Skinner’s honor which has helped 909 patients.

This year’s goal is 70 units.

Donors will receive a long sleeved Red Cross t-shirt, anyone is encouraged to attend.
