Tri-Cities Opera has announced the schedule for its 70th season in operation.
Officials from TCO along with local leaders were in attendance for the unveiling of the 2019-2020 slate of shows.
Tosca will be the first production of the season taking place October 20th at the Forum Theatre, followed by Marie Begins on February 21st at the opera center on Clinton Street and A Little Night Music on April 24th 2020 also at the opera center.
Artistic Director Susan Ashbaker says she’s thrilled with the lineup’s variety.
For Marie Begins, the audience will be asked to use their phones through the show to vote and help determine the outcome.
“Tri-Cities Opera is the first Opera company in the world to use this kind of technology in a production. To bring a world premiere performance of something that is so cutting edge will putt a lot of attention on our community which is really wonderful.”
Ashbaker says while Marie Begins is certainly a more innovative and modern show, Tosca is an Opera Classic that fans of the genre will love.
Tickets for the 2019-2020 season will go on sale in May for Tri-Cities Opera subscribers and June for everyone else.
