This Day in Binghamton History: Other names for Binghamton (1834)

MAY 3 – Today in 1834, the Village of Binghamton was incorporated.

We don’t refer to Binghamton as a Village anymore, but before it become official, people had some different names for it.

The area was known as “Chenango Point,” and also “Twin Elms.”

People also used to use the term “Goosetown” to refer to the area that is now Nimmonsburg.
