However, in August of 1949, it wasn’t as bad as it could haven been.
The Binghamton City Dump finally gets the stamp of approval with North Siders saying it smells “as sweet as a rose” despite one of the hottest summers.
The magic fix?
Covering the garbage with dirt nightly.
