August 17 – Today in Binghamton history we have a cricket infestation back in 1934.
Waves of crickets from the city dump infest homes on Cleveland Ave.
Life becomes miserable for the homeowners, as they have to deal with the constant chirping and crawling from the insects.
Some residents try to spray, but the crickets remain.
Many people are driven out of their homes.
