June 21 – Today we have a controversial decision made in 1932.

Today, Binghamton born boxer Jack Sharkey won the World Heavyweight Championship, beating the popular German reigning champion, Max Schmelilng.

Outfought in the majority of the 15 rounds, the decision was then called “one of the worst” in the history of the heavyweight game.
