7th graders from Windsor Middle School spent the last day before the Christmas break helping to prepare a holiday meal for the less fortunate.
All 137 students visited American Legion Post 80 on Main Street in Binghamton this morning preparing for the Bandera Family Christmas Dinner which takes place next Tuesday.
The kids assembled some of the sides that go with the takeout meals, including cranberry sauce and applesauce and cookies.
They also did some decorating of the auditorium where the meal takes place on Christmas Day.
Amariah Argro was looking forward to pitching in. “It’s really fun. You get to learn about what people have and what people don’t have and you get to give back and experience it.”
This will be the 29th year of the free Christmas meal and the 9th year that Windsor students have helped out.
The dinner takes place at a variety of locations in our area on Christmas Day.
