New York State Police arrested nearly 800 impaired drivers over the holidays, the agency said Tuesday.
Trooper took 783 people into custody statewide for impaired driving during Christmas and New Years enforcement details — that’s more than 200 more than last year (667 arrest). Troopers also issued 48,877 tickets during the crackdown.
Those tickets included:
- Speeding: 16,169
- Distracted Driving: 9,573
- Seatbelt violations: 1,223
- Move Over Law: 437
The enforcement ran for 19 days from December 13 to January 1.
