You know it’s officially the Yuletide Season when the sweet sounds of holiday music emanates from the Security Mutual building in downtown Binghamton.
In a tradition that company executives estimate goes back at least 50 years, employees of the life insurance company lined the marble staircases in the historic lobby today.
The group serenaded co-workers, clients, family and friends with songs ranging from traditional carols to contemporary favorites.
Chairman and CEO Bruce Boyea says that while the lobby probably wasn’t designed for concerts, it has great acoustics. “We’re really fortunate, we have a great group of employees. They care throughout the year. They care about our policy holders, they make a difference for the people that they serve. I think for them, doing this is just another way of them giving back, just like they do every day of the year.”
Boyea says the employees also support local food pantries during the holidays as well as the Bandera Family Christmas Dinner.
