Rumble Ponies raise flag to signify the start of the season

The renovations are complete, the players are ready, it’s just about time to play ball in Binghamton.

A flag raising was held outside City Hall in Binghamton today in preparation for the Rumble Ponies home opener tomorrow night.

After opening the season on a road trip to New Hampshire and Portland, the Ponies will be playing in the newly renovated NYSEG Stadium for the first time in 2019.

The stadium underwent 5 point 1 million dollars in renovations this off-season marking the largest makeover since it was built in 1992.

Owner John Hughes says he’s excited for fans to enjoy all the new features. “It’s huge, a lot of the things the fans are going to see and a lot of things they aren’t going to see. They’re equally as important. They’ll see the chairs, the concourses, the scoreboard they’re going to see all of those things. But it was the insides that were really in need and a lot of the structural repairs are being overlooked and not mentioned enough but those are just as critical to having baseball here in Binghamton.”

First pitch against the Erie Sea Wolves is set for 6:35.

There will be a blanket giveaway to the first thousand fans in attendance.
