The Republican candidate for New York Governor took a a tour of Greater Binghamton Friday.
Republican nominee Marc Molinaro joined state Senator Fred Akshar on a visit to multiple area businesses.
Stops in Binghamton included The Park Diner, Binghamton Precast, ACHIEVE, Blakeslee Restaurant Supply, and Kovarik Hardware.
Molinaro says you can’t govern over people without getting to know them.
He says the high tax rate in the state has put a growing burden on the people of the Southern Tier.
“We’ve heard consistently in this part of the state that they feel abandoned in many ways by this governor. In so many ways if only we can drive down taxes, make it easier for businesses to grow they can grow job opportunities so our kids can graduate and stay here. So that families can retire here. So that we can improve the quality of life for everyone,” said Molinaro.
After wrapping up in Binghamton, Molinaro headed West to the Blue Dolphin Diner in Apalachin.
He’s finishing up the day in Owego, visiting Upstate Shredding and holding a Town Hall at the Owego Kitchen.
