House Passes Tenney Cosponsored Resolution in Support of ICE
Washington, D.C.— Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced the passage of H.Res. 990, a resolution expressing support of the officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ICE agents made nearly 127,000 arrests last year against people who came to the United States and committed violent crimes against law-abiding Americans. Those criminals were responsible for more than 50,000 assaults, 2,000 kidnappings and 1,800 homicides.
“This important Resolution that passed the House today expresses our gratitude for ICE’s sacrifice and support for their critical mission. Calls to abolish ICE are recklessly misguided and dangerous. Out-of-touch, liberal politicians want a lawless society, meanwhile, the majority of Americans oppose their dangerous move to abolish ICE. These public servants perform vital functions that protect American families. Last year, agents worked around the clock to rescue 1,422 victims of human trafficking. More than 900 of those victims were children. I am glad to see my colleagues express their support and respect for ICE by passing this resolution,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.
