Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Calls Out Anthony Brindisi For His Silence and Enablement of Albany’s Corruption

New Hartford, NY- Today, joined by taxpayers in New York’s 22nd district, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney held a press conference calling out her opponent, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, for his silence on recent federal corruption indictments and his long record of enabling Albany’s corruption epidemic.
“Anthony Brindisi claims he’s a moderate, independent fighter for the people, but with yet another Cuomo crony convicted on federal corruption charges, Albany insider Anthony Brindisi is exposed again. Whether it’s the failed Utica Nano project, or voting for Sheldon Silver as Speaker even after it was exposed Silver used taxpayer money to cover up sexual harassment, Brindisi has enabled corruption and failed economic development schemes that have cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars while lining the pockets of Governor Cuomo’s cronies, self-serving politicians and Brindisi’s friends,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.
Rep. Tenney concluded, “There is a clear choice in the race for Congress.  I will stand with taxpayers against the rigged system and the corruption of the political elite.  Anthony Brindisi is the poster child for what’s wrong in Albany, and he would make Washington worse.”
Anthony Brindisi championed Governor Cuomo’s plan to create a nanotechnology center for SUNY Polytechnic in Marcy led by Alain Kaloyeros from the start. Brindisi pushed for up to $585 million in tax dollars for the failed Nano Utica program and was praised by Kaloyeros for his efforts in the project. At the start of the Kaloyeros trial, Brindisi refused to comment.

In the Assembly, Claudia Tenney tackled the corrupt status quo of Albany head on, introducing bold ethics reforms that were ignored by liberal Albany politicians and Cuomo enablers like Anthony Brindisi. Tenney was the first to call for Sheldon Silver to resign after revelations that he used taxpayer money to cover up sexual harassment claims of innocent women in the Assembly. In Congress, Rep. Tenney is leading the fight against Washington’s rigged system by holding corrupt politicians accountable and fighting for term limits.
