BRINDISI FULFILLS CAMPAIGN PLEDGE, HOLDS FREE AND OPEN TOWN HALLS IN EVERY COUNTY IN THE 22ND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
Anthony Brindisi, candidate for Congress in New York’s 22nd district, has fulfilled his promise to hold a free and open town hall meeting in all eight counties that make up the district. On Sunday, he held the final town hall in Oswego County, meeting with about 30 constituents at the American Legion in Central Square. Every town hall event was free and open to the public. Brindisi took questions straight from the audience and most events lasted until there were no more questions. “People want to make sure their voices are heard in Washington,” Brindisi said. “A good representative is also a good listener. And these town halls were as much an opportunity for me to learn about what the people of the 22nd district care about as they were an opportunity for people to learn about where I stand on the issues. I was glad to see people from across the political spectrum attend. We need more honest civil discussion in Washington and I tried to set an example of that here with my town halls,” he added. The events took place from February to July and included stops in Cortland, Hamilton, Norwich, Binghamton, Little Falls, Owego, Utica, and Central Square. With less than 100 days left of the campaign, Brindisi will maintain an active presence throughout the district. His campaign expects to make stops in all eight counties before Labor Day and open more campaign offices in the coming weeks.
