Governor Cuomo has announced that the New York State police will increase patrols to crack down on impaired driving through the end of the year.
The detail is part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign which runs through January 1st.
Drivers can expect to see an increase in sobriety checkpoints along with more troopers on the roadways.
During the campaign troopers will be using both marked State Police vehicles and Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement cars that blend in with traffic.
Throughout last year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign which ran from December 15th to the New Year, state place issued over 40,000 tickets and made 645 DWI arrests.
