The jury returned a guilty verdict Monday afternoon for Horn for murdering Phillip Lough last November on Pine Street in Corning. Our media partner The Leader reported the verdict after the jury reconvened at 9 a.m. Monday morning after beginning deliberations Friday night.
During the trial, Horn’s fiancee testified that he told her he killed Lough because of Lough’s comments about committing violent acts against women. Police testified that Horn wrote some words on a drawing he made of the crime scene when he confessed to police. The words were swung left, hit three times, third fatal. DNA evidence found on Lough’s jeans was also presented in the trial. A state crime lab official testified some of it was a perfect match for Horn.
