Newark Valley will be holding its 7th annual family STEAM night on Tuesday March 5th from 6:30pm – 7:00pm.

Students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade and their families are invited to attend this even at Newark Valley Middle School. Students and groups from Newark Valley middle and high schools have a variety of presentations and hands-on activities planned.

We also have groups from the community come, including Kopernik’s portable planetarium, BAE’s HybriDrive bus, Lockheed Martin, 4-H, a local girl scout troop and even live reptiles. STEAM night allows elementary school students the opportunity to experience the fun of integrating science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).

Our STEAM night is held in memory of Dr. Jessica Williams, who was the family and consumer science teacher at Newark Valley Middle School. Dr. Williams was one of the teachers who began STEAM night and continued to organize it every year until she passed away from a short battle with cancer 2 years ago. STEAM night is a wonderful night for our community and we would love to have you come check it out.
