Multiple locations in Elmira raided, part of illegal narcotics ring investigation

Multiple locations across the City of Elmira were raided by law enforcement agencies including the DEA, ATF, NYSP, Elmira Police Department and Chemung County Sheriff’s office Wednesday morning in connection to an illegal narcotics ring.

18 News was on the scene at 306 W. Thurston Street where various agencies were investigating inside an apartment. They were also searching a vehicle parked outside. We’re also told investigators were on scene on Walnut Street in the city as well as various other locations. 

The U.S. Attorney’s office will be holding a press conference at Elmira City Hall at 2 p.m. Wednesday to discuss what they are calling “a significant development in the dismantling of an illegal narcotics ring” here in the city. 

U.S. Attorney William Hochul will be joined by representatives of the DEA, ATF, NYS Police, Elmira Police Department and other local police departments at the press conference.
