A man has been indicted after seriously injuring a Sheriff’s Deputy in a Head on Collision in February.

A Broome County Grand Jury handed up an 11 count indictment against Daniel Butash.

According to the indictment, while having a blood alcohol concentration of 0.18, Butash had been stopped along the shoulder facing the wrong direction.

When police responded he took off and slammed into Deputy Kristy Botsford’s car head-on.

Emergency responders had to use the “jaws of life” to remove Botsford from the vehicle.

Butash’s charges include assault, vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, and driving while intoxicated.
