UPDATE: Nicholas Rideout is now in custody, after he stabbed a female victim who is in critical condition, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Rideout was transported to a hospital because of lacerations from a taser gun because he would not cooperate with police. Jim Allard, the Steuben County Sheriff, said Rideout was holding a knife when they tried to apprehend him.
18 News reporter Brooke Taylor was live at the scene when police confronted the suspect.
A woman has been stabbed in the Town of Campbell on State Route 415, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspect, Nicholas Rideout.
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard tells 18 News that Rideout is at-large and is likely traveling on foot.
Law enforcement are utilizing helicopters and K-9 units in their search for Rideout.
The woman involved in the stabbing was airlifted to an area hospital and there is no word on her condition.
