While most school districts got their budgets passed by local taxpayers, Owego Apalachin’s was not.
The school districts’ proposed 2019-2020 budget of a little over 47 point 9 million dollars was voted down.
The budget had an increase of 2.63 percent and a tax levy increase of 3.83 percent.
While the budget was voted down, the purchase of 5 new school buses and funding for 2 public libraries was approved by Owego taxpayers.
The school district released a statement saying it is considering all options which are a re-vote on the current budget, a re-vote on a revised budget, or going directly to a contingency budget.
