Taste New York agriculture store opens

TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. - A one-stop-shop for all things agricultural is complete in the Town of Dickinson.

A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday for the grand opening of the Taste New York Store located alongside Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Broome County Regional Farmer's Market.

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and Assemblyman Cliff Crouch joined State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball to celebrate the opening.

The store offers locally produced dairy products, sauces, coffee, hemp products, and hot prepared foods from local vendors.

CCE Executive Director Vicki Giarrantano says the site is already a destination for residents.

"You marry this with the farmers market here and we probably have around 1,200 people here on our property every Saturday for all things agriculture.  People are buying products," said Giarratano.

In recognition of her support, an area is dedicated to Assemblywoman Lupardo, designating it as "Donna's Kitchen."

The facility also includes a classroom space and a 3,000 square foot deck overlooking Cutler Gardens.
